Received this email forwarded from Colin Fizzell by Ted Lewis;
Dear Charlie, I have had the depressing message from Bill Charlton who is in Tasmania. Bill informs me that Barry ‘Bones’ Keogh who had the good fortune to farewell 2RAR from Malaysia and welcome 3,hand served with The Battalion in Borneo has been admitted to the Palliative Care Centre Hobart with Motor Neurone Disease and the prognosis is not good. Barry can’t talk but would like calls and visits from his mates; his telephone number is 03 6220 2400. Barry was one of those who left The Battalion to form 7RAR and served with 7 in SVN.

Received this bad news this morning about Gordon Henderson
Hi Fella's,
My mate the above named is having a big battle with cancer at this time. I don't think he will last that much longer. When the shit happens can your Assn send a rep or two to the service. I'll advise time and date. It will be in Wollongong somewhere
Please do not contact him or the family, he thinks he will beat it, but tumors are now in the brain.
I served with 3 RAR, 71.
My contact is :

Received this email from Rod Lyons
I took a call from Jim Benton (old friend) who had called to convey the following message of the impending death of a 7RAR digger.
His info follows:
Name: TOM FALLANCE - 215544
Rank: Cpl
Tour: '67-'68
Based: ARUNGA NURSING HOME, NTH RYDE
Sickness: Dying of Alzheimer's & Cancer.
Prognosis: Imminent death, maybe within 4 days.
Wife: Sandy
Ctc: 9874-6228
Am advised that Chatswood Legacy would have addit info on Jim.
I believe the family would like some 7RAR representation at the funeral with banners etc., Am sure we organise; I think you have the gonfalon Bernie?
... I'd imagine the funeral to be (possibly) some day next week beginning Monday 24th January... or the following week? I'm more than happy to represent 7 at the Funeral, along with hopefully others from 7 including some 1st Tour diggers.
Bernie & others, I'll cfm more detail after speaking with Jim Benton this evening.
Cheers,
Rod
