I took a call from Jim Benton (old friend) who had called to convey the following message of the impending death of a 7RAR digger. His info follows:

Tour: '67-'68 Based: ARUNGA NURSING HOME, NTH RYDE Sickness: Dying of Alzheimer's & Cancer. Prognosis: Imminent death, maybe within 4 days. Wife: Sandy Ctc: 9874-6228 Am advised that Chatswood Legacy would have addit info on Jim. I believe the family would like some 7RAR representation at the funeral with banners etc., Am sure we organise; I think you have the gonfalon Bernie? ... I'd imagine the funeral to be (possibly) some day next week beginning Monday 24th January... or the following week? I'm more than happy to represent 7 at the Funeral, along with hopefully others from 7 including some 1st Tour diggers.
