I regret to announce that on Wednesday 4th January 2012, 2791806 Peter " Shorty " Rastall 12 Pl D Coy 2nd Tour died.

His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday 10th January 2012 in Tamworth NSW funeral details to follow.

MICK Berrigan went to war in 1967 - a bright spark who loved a drink and the girls.

The shell of a man who came back injured never recovered from his private hell. PRIVATE Mick Berrigan died from combat injuries last Sunday and was buried on Thursday.

There weren't any politicians there, or news cameras, because death didn't come swiftly. It ate at him for 44 years, tore at his body and soul and drove his parents, Rosemary and Gerald, to an early grave.

The artillery shell shrapnel that hit him, so-called friendly fire, took the best part of his life in Vietnam, and then took its time with the rest

Leave a comment in memory of Mick and his life-long struggle

There will be Memorial Service for John on Sunday 6 Nov commencing 11:00hrs at the Community Centre, Bundawalla Gardens, 134 Bruce Highway Eastern Service Road,Burpengary QLD.  John will have already been interred privately so the ceremony will not be formal.  Expect some RSL involvement followed by a BBQ in the centre.

Directions:  Traveling north from Brisbane on the Bruce Highway exit left at the Deception Bay overpass then cross over the highway and take the first turn Left onto the service road.  The Gardens are on the right on The Boulevard.

Mick's funeral is to be conducted at St Agnes RC Church, Spring Rd, Highett, Victoria 10am, Thursday 27th Oct.
